There have been some new features and major changes to GIF News in this issue. Here is a list of them: * The 4th page of GIF News is a MCGA/VGA 320x200 in 256 Color page, GIF News' first VGA page. The filename, instead of being called GN9103-4.GIF is instead called GN9103V4.GIF where the V stands for VGA. The first three pictures are still in 640x350 16 color EGA. * In regard to advertising, GIF News is still giving free ad space. However, in order to keep your free ad, you must notify me every other month that you want to keep your ad in it, submitting any changes that you have. For example, if you have a BBS ad in GIF News in the current issue, you must notify me 10 days before the next issue will come out that you want your ad in it (i.e. you have an ad in the March/April issue, you must notify me by April 21st in order to get the ad in the May/June issue) Failure to do so will result in your ad not being included. However, if you have a donation-paid ad, you will automatically thereafter get smaller than 1/5 page free ads in the next 6 issues. For example, your current donation- paid ad is in the March/April issue. You do not have to keep notifying me for free ad space for the next six issues. They will automatically be included. After that, you must notify me that you wish to keep your ad in it. * Donations do not necessarily have to be in the form of money. Hardware/software or anything else useful is acceptable forms of donation. Contact me and we'll discuss what will be a suitable form of donation. For example, if you're XYZ Modem Company and you donate a V.32bis modem, your modem could be reviewed in a feature article. The following is a basic guideline in donation-paid ads: $5-$25 will get you about 1/4-1/3 page. Over $15, you can have custom-made pictures and graphics. $25-$50 is equivalent to 1/3-3/4 page. Again, over $35, you can have custom graphics and logos designed for you. Over $50 can get a full page ad. Over $65 if you want custom graphics and designs. Ads can also accept graphics that you may already have. Full Page Ads can be in any VGA standard resolution mode, as long as it is under 30K. These are only guidelines, not set rates. I am willing to negotiate. Please contact me for more details. * Thank-you again for taking the time to download GIF News, and please be sure to upload it to as many places as you can. - Eric Hsiao, Editor-In-Chief
